The Importance And Needs Of Social Network

The Importance And Needs Of Social Network

How one chooses social networking sites can and often will strongly affect the intended message that is perceived by the targeted audience. The most popular sites are Facebook, Youtube, Myspace and Twitter. Most major and independent labels are using social networking sites to reach their target audience.
The three important components for social networking are the websites they choose, the audience, and the purpose. On this website, one wants to inform the audience of a specific topic and for a specific reason. If any of these elements are lacking, the entire concept of social networking is lost.
There are some considerations one has to make in order to make sure that his or her   website is providing proper information. If the website isn’t entirely complete, or the purpose for the website is subject to interpretation, the more one has to monitor and consider the methods used for this website.
A failure to utilize these networking sites can be a failure to connect with the audience. If one cannot proffer a connection to the audience, there can be no reasonable expectation for the audience to follow or even consider any persuasion by the message even if the message is full of merit. Consider how the audience connects to what is being said and how the message is conveying this information.
Online Social Networking
Any type of social networking in an online setting makes an impression on the fans, potential clients, and targeted audience. Everything written online is a record, so people should be aware of clarity and grammar, even in communications that have a tendency to feel informal, such as e-mails and online chat sessions. According to a Forrester Research report (2008),
“Online communication is one of the basic functions of social networking and its importance can hardly be overemphasized. It is a process of conveying information, ideas, thoughts and opinions and plans of various social networking sites”. Forrester Research emphasizes the importance and needs for social networking, ideas can be transmitted online via ichat, emails and photos.
Effective communication in a managerial position is also important. In the entertainment industry, productivity and efficiency are important that task are accomplished (Dannen 2005). Below, Dannen highlights the significance for social networking online (2005):
Communication is an important factor in any relationship, be it a couple or a large
company such as a record labels. In fact 80% of the entertainment businesses surveyed social networking sites are their biggest problem and the future. Those same surveys also stated that 90% top executives say social networking are needed to reach their targeted audience. (p.76)
It is important to understand the methods and applications for using online social networking sites. The message must be clear, the audience must be well infomed, and the purpose should not be vague or abstract. These elements are also effective in the entertainment industry, as efficiency and easily understood communication makes everything smother for all members involved.
